The Horizon SHORE Project aims to act as a hub to promote and deliver ocean literacy across society by working not only with schools but also with scientists, policy makers and the public. The project consortium.consists of 14 core partners and seven Associated parties collaborating in a 36-month project to:
* act as a bridge between research and education to increase the professional development of educators to foster lifelong learning towards creating agents of change at an early age;
* expand and broaden ocean and water literacy in primary and secondary schools in cooperation with the Network of European Blue Schools and EU4Ocean coalition to expand the network and engage in twinning activities supported with cascade funding;
* promote open schooling methodologies including developing training material aligned with environmental and other science curricula aimed at engaging students with pedogogies adapted to regional and cultural differences;
* support a Community of Practice;
* sponsor school events that will increase awareness and promote ocean literacy.
SHORE is a Horizon project funded by the European Commission.
European Blue Schools bring the ocean into the classroom. On the journey to becoming a European Blue School, teachers and pupils will improve their understanding of the ocean and develop a sense of responsibility towards our shared planet. May 31 dead

Three Open Calls during the 36-month grant period aim to enhance the ocean literacy of primary and secondary students, educators, and schools, by empowering youth to become agents of change and eco-citizens with grants up to 10.000EUR. First call held January-March, 2024. Next Open Call coming in September, 2024
