Increasing ocean literacy via activities and cooperation

About the SHORE project.....

The Horizon SHORE Project aims to act as a hub to promote and deliver ocean literacy across society by working not only with schools but also with scientists,  policy makers and the public. The project consortium.consists of 14 core partners and seven Associated parties collaborating in a 36-month project to:

* act as a bridge between research and education to increase the professional development of educators to foster lifelong learning towards creating agents of change at an early age;

* expand and broaden ocean and water literacy in primary and secondary schools in cooperation with the Network of European Blue Schools and EU4Ocean coalition to expand the network and engage in twinning activities supported with cascade funding;

* promote open schooling methodologies including developing training material aligned with environmental and other science curricula aimed at engaging students with pedogogies adapted to regional and cultural differences;

* support a Community of Practice;

* sponsor school events that will increase awareness and promote ocean literacy.
